Wednesday 24 May 2006

High street games shops have been told by Sony that there will be no PS3 pre-owned sections in their stores as it will be illegal for customers to sell any next-gen PlayStation games that they’ve bought, retail sources have revealed to GamesRadar.

It seems that Sony is planning to adopt a licensing system [...]

MLB Front Office Manager MLB Front Office Manager Review

An obtuse interface makes MLB Front Office Manager bewildering even to baseball-sim veterans.

Sports management simulations have finally hit the big time. After years of indie obscurity, at least in North America, the genre has finally been hauled into the mainstream by EA Sports and 2K Sports. But [...]

Mirror’s Edge Review

Mirror’s Edge offers occasional thrills, provided that you can look past some awkward stumbles.

Like its heroine, Faith, Mirror’s Edge tries to hurdle some significant obstacles, but unlike Faith, it can’t always make the leap. No doubt, this fascinating action platformer possesses its share of innovations, from [...]

Saints Row 2 Review

By Tom Mc Shea

Technical problems mar this delightfully crass, immature, and over-the-top sandbox game.

When the original Saints Row came out two years ago, it served to placate fans until Grand Theft Auto made its next-generation debut. Saints Row’s deviant destruction didn’t push the boundaries of what to expect from [...]

Explore Khazad-Dum online in this excellent, narrative-driven expansion pack.

When you first enter Moria, the famous dwarven depths, an imposing stairway of 1,001 rocky steps greets you. It’s an indelible moment for Tolkien fans, but more importantly, it sets the stage for this curiously murky, moody expansion pack [...]

A Vampyre Story Review

Cartoony bloodsuckers make A Vampyre Story a cheesy good time.

Backgrounds that could have been taken from old Hanna-Barbera cartoons and a bad guy who looks like he just stepped off a Count Chocula cereal box make A Vampyre Story one of the most distinctive adventures released this [...]

Grand Theft Auto IV Review

Performance issues prevent this lazy PC port of a superb console game from being the best Grand Theft Auto yet.

Stepping off a boat in the shoes of illegal immigrant Niko Bellic as he arrives in Liberty City at the start of Grand Theft Auto IV, you can [...]

King’s Bounty: The Legend Review

By Brett Todd

King’s Bounty is a great modern rendition of an old-fashioned formula.

One thing you can say for King’s Bounty: The Legend is that it fares a lot better than most resurrections of old games. While these digitalized archaeological digs generally reveal that you wouldn’t want to go [...]

WOW: Wrath of Lich King Review

The second World of Warcraft expansion doesn’t do anything for new players, but there’s plenty of great content for anyone who’s reached at least level 55.

Four years and well beyond 10 million subscriptions after the release of World of Warcraft, Blizzard’s phenomenally successful massively multiplayer online [...]

Prince of Persia (2008) Review

By Kevin VanOrd

Prince of Persia’s shimmering veneer and joyous platforming will cast a spell on you.

In many modern games, you rain death upon your enemies; how refreshing, then, that your main task in Prince of Persia is to breathe life into a darkening world. That doesn’t mean that [...]
